About Flip Books

Flipbooks are books meant for orientation purpose to provide standard messages, traditionally used by facilitators for a group of people in small meetings. Flipbooks are in cards bound together with illustrations and its description on the two sides. This toolkit has Flipbooks on identified FNHW topics to be used majorly during dedicated FNHW monthly meetings of the Self Help Groups.

The front pictorial side is illustrated for the participants. The back side with descriptive messages, is for the facilitator to read, understand and explain to the participants. The facilitator displays the pictorial side to the participants first and asks what they understand. After that, the facilitator explains the message related to the picture.

Women’s Healths issue

This flipbook provides additional information on the issues pertaining to women`s health issues so that the facilitator is equipped to address any questions, doubts raised by participants while the session is rolled out.

Adolescent Nutrition and Health

This Flipbook explains requirements on nutrition and health, covers issues of anemia and malnutrition and gives information about Adolescent Friendly Health Clinics.


Anaemia

This Flipbook provides information about the causes, symptoms and consequences of anaemia. It also gives nutrition recommendations for women and children to prevent anaemia.


Ante-Natal Care

This Flipbook explains the need for early registration of pregnancy, four ante natal checkups and its services, preparation for safe delivery and post-natal care.

Balanced Diet and Diet Diversity for Family

This Flipbook provides information on different food groups and how to maintain diversity in daily diet for all family members.

This Flipbook provides information on need for planning a family, who should consider family planning, methods of and some considerations that help in family planning.

This Flipbook explains the requirement for giving special attention to the nutrition and health of the elderly and its do’s and don’ts. The flipbook also mentions the support and services available for elderly.

This Flipbook touches on importance of using household toilets, washing hands with soap at critical times, key personal hygiene habits and keeping water and food safe by proper handling.


Infant and Young Child Nutrition

The rules to follow for good nutrition practices of infants and children below two years are discussed in this Flipbook, focusing on principles of breastfeeding and complementary feeding.
